Khumalo met Zuma in 1959 and the two began a relationship, yet they were isolated when Zuma was captured in 1963 and condemned to 10 years in jail. Zuma and Khumalo were hitched after he was delivered in 1973, and in 1975 Zuma went into banish abandoning Khumalo. While in a state of banishment he began a relationship with another ANC oust Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma and the two later got hitched, making Khumalo Zuma’s first spouse in a polygamous marriage as per Zulu custom. The couple have no youngsters.
